Airobotics, an Israeli manufacturer of autonomous drones (drones) and aerial data platforms, and Solar Drone, an Israeli solar farm service company, have signed a binding agreement under which Airobotics will develop and provide Solar Drone with unique solar cells Board cleaning service drone system. The fully automated system will include a drone dock for automatic battery replacement and replenishment of cleaning fluid to enable continuous operation of the system.

Solar panel cleaning will soon become a multi-billion dollar market. Dirt, dust, mud and bird droppings will greatly reduce the efficiency of solar panels, thereby affecting power output. This means that the solar panels must be cleaned frequently, especially in a dirty/dusty/bird environment. Frequent cleaning is expensive and time-consuming, especially if the panels are remote, difficult to access, or difficult to clean. Examples include floating solar farms (on the water), roof panels, and sun tracking panels.

Airobotics and Solar Drone aim to use their expertise in drones and solar systems to create and market a new drone-based cleaning solution, which is expected to be sold in Israel, Europe, India and the UAE in the first three years The amount will reach 10 million U.S. dollars.

Meir Kliner, CEO and co-founder of Airobotics: "Our agreement with Solar Drone can use Airobotics' advanced core technology to help monitor and maintain solar farms. This is another step for us to enter the multi-billion dollar market."

Solar Drone founder Shmuel Yanai: "Today's solutions are clumsy and uneconomical, and cannot cope with modern solar farms. We believe that Airobotics' drone technology entering the market will change the rules of the game and have huge economic potential."
