Component manufacturer Silfab has opened a new plant in North Seattle and is now shipping its 370 W Prime series components.

Silfab announced that it will ship products from its new production facility in Burlington, Washington, north of Seattle. The company stated that the facility’s manufacturing capacity has doubled, bringing the total installed capacity to 800 MW. The plant with an annual production capacity of 400 MW focuses on producing Silfab's new Prime 370 W series.

Silfab said that cell sorting, glass cleaning, welding, and cell alignment are all automated processes-the company says, this has resulted in a lower defect rate for its products.

The company is mainly known for its back-contact and mono-crystalline PERC photovoltaic modules for the North American residential and commercial markets.

The new Prime STC series panels have a rated efficiency of 20.2%, a rated power of 370 W, and a maximum DC voltage of 1,000. Its operating temperature is between -45 C and 85 C.

The 44-pound module contains 120 single-crystal PERC half-cells and nine bus bars, and is packaged in a black anodized aluminum frame. The panel module product process warranty is 12 years, and it can be extended to 25 years. The company stated that the linear power supply has been performing well for 30 years.
