Solar Rooftop Yojana: In order to promote the use of solar energy in the country, the Indian government cooperated with the state government to launch the solar roof Yojana. The government's goal is to achieve 100 GW of solar power generation capacity by 2022. Of which 40 GW of energy will come from the solar roof system.

In order to encourage people to install solar roof systems, the government provides subsidies during installation. The plan is being implemented by the local power distribution company (DISCOM) in each state.

The Indian government has provided solar roof subsidies to government, residential, social and institutional sectors. In order to obtain subsidies under the program, consumers should only install rooftop solar power plants from DISCOM's designated suppliers after obtaining the due process approved by DISCOM. The plan includes 5 years of maintenance by the supplier.
