SolarReviews, an independent comparison website for solar panel brands and installations based in the United States, released its first ranking system for solar manufacturers. The following are the top 10 solar panel manufacturers in 2021.

This scoring method was developed by a committee of industry experts based on SolarReviews.com consumer reviews and used to score the 20 most popular solar panel brands in the United States in 2021.

The purpose of the scoring method is to provide consumers with long-term prospects for the performance and value of the solar panel brand. It acknowledges that some solar panels have a 25-year warranty, but consumer reviews are usually created within the first year of installation.

The solar panel manufacturer scoring system analyzes hundreds of data points extracted from solar panel specification sheets, company financial statements, and state-level government statistics to score each solar panel brand. The ranking considers the following factors:

Value (30%). The high upfront cost of solar panels prevents many homeowners from turning to solar energy, so cost is an important factor.

Module quality (20%). The performance of the specification sheet of each company's top residential solar panels was evaluated, especially its efficiency grade and temperature coefficient. Panels that take up less space and behave more consistently under different environmental conditions get higher scores.

Financial visibility and strength (20%). The financial status of a solar panel manufacturer is the best indicator of whether the company exists to fulfill possible warranty claims.

Warranty (10%). Product and performance guarantees are taken into consideration. The product warranty reflects the reliability of the module, while the performance warranty evaluation evaluates how the panel performance remains the same over time.

US investment (10%). The degree of commitment of each brand to the US market.

Dealer network (10%): The brand's availability among solar installers, thus ensuring the availability of American customers.

Andy Sendy, founder and president of SolarReviews.com, said:

The US solar market consists of hundreds of solar panel brands of different price points and values. Consumers are often faced with the challenging task of balancing the upfront cost of the panel and the lifetime of the solar system to ensure long-term savings.

The "2021 Best Solar Manufacturers" list is designed to help consumers understand the solar panels with the best value and performance in the long run. We hope that this ranking will enable those who switch to solar energy to shop smarter and ultimately get the solar system that is most suitable for them.

SolarReviews is independent, and installing solar panels on your roof is a wise and huge investment. Therefore, this guide is very helpful for those who sit down with an installer representative to decide which solar panel to choose.

Before we move forward with solar panels, we are personally awaiting the outcome of the infrastructure bill (we are currently working on community wind energy with Arcadia), but have already consulted.

It is not surprising to me that LG Solar became the number one. Taking the above factors into account, it is already the number one in our family.
