Solar panel manufacturer REC announced that its 4th generation TwinPeak series will start production this month and will be available in July/August.
REC's TwinPeak series has been around since 2014-when you have a good performance, you will stick to it. The company said that TwinPeak 4, which will be manufactured in Singapore, has a new battery structure design, multi-bus connection and higher power output than its predecessor.
The latest TwinPeak also uses the same frame and support rods as REC's N-Peak and Alpha series solar panels, enabling it to withstand higher wind loads.
"REC TwinPeak 4 marks the latest advancement in technology and performance of our TwinPeak series, and strengthens the entire REC Group product portfolio by providing more choices for our roof customers, whether in the residential or commercial and industrial sectors," REC Group Cemil said Seber.
If installed by REC-certified installers, the product, performance and labor warranty period of TwinPeak 4 is 25 years.
TwinPeak 4 has an improved power guarantee. The maximum power is reduced by 2% during the first year of operation, and 0.5% every year thereafter, until the 25th year, when TwinPeak 4 should have at least 86% of its original capacity.
Using SQ's solar panel comparison table to review TwinPeak 2, the guaranteed annual performance drop for the 2nd-25th year is 0.7%, and the guaranteed power output for the 25th year is 80.70%.

Last month, REC announced that its new Alpha Pure Black solar panels will start production in June and is expected to be available in July. Also based on the company's Twin Design and patented split battery and junction box technology, the new Alpha will provide up to 405W of capacity. When initially launched in 2019, REC Alpha had a capacity of up to 380 watts, and the all-black module series had a capacity of up to 375 watts.
The new REC Alpha Pure Black solar panels will provide at least 92% guaranteed power after 25 years of operation and a temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, which is very impressive.
